Free Software by Tony

Hi, I am tony baldwin, translator and interpreter, and hobby hacker1), the owner of this site.

tony baldwin This wiki features software which I have created, and/or FOSS projects which I have initiated or in which I participate. All of the programs I have put together are FREE/OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE.

For the latest news on my software releases, etc., visit my log or see Recent Changes.

For those unfamiliar with the concept of FREE Software2), the term refers to Free as in Freedom (although, on this site, the software is also “free” as in price=$0.00). This means, the software is free to download, free to use, free to copy, free to redistribute, and, even, free to modify, in that, you may access the source code, change the program to your own needs, and redistribute it again, so long as you abide by the same license, allowing others to do the same. They contain no spyware, malware or viruses, and won't stop working and ask for money in 30 days, either. I write programs for my own use, and then share them with others, as the Free and Open Source Software community has done for me. It's my way of giving a little something back.

As such ALL MY PROGRAMS AND CODE ON THIS WIKI ARE RELEASED ACCORDING TO THE TERMS OF THE GNU PUBLIC LICENSE version 3.

I wrote some of these to be useful to me in my translation work, or for other purposes, but, some were just for fun.
I hope you enjoy them.

If you'd like to contribute, drop me a line, or many of my projects are on github, and you're always welcome to clone my repos and have a go at the code.

a hacker is a software developer; I am not a cracker, which is someone who illegally breaks and enters someone else's computer. See http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/hacker-howto.html
